Still Have Some Questions?
At Beauty at the Bay we offer several different types of bikini line finishes from a ‘Basic Bikini’ through to a ‘Hollywood’. For the less daring a Basic bikini wax literally covers just the little bit of hair that spills out of your pants onto your leg line. Next on from here is a ‘High Bikini’ and is up to a two finger width inside a full brief pant line. This wax does not remove any hair from the labia. Next up we offer a ‘Brazilian Bikini’ which is everything off from the bikini area including the front, labia, and back (bottom) with a strip left at the top. The remaining strip is tailored to your requirements – be it a thin strip, a thicker strip or a triangle – please feel free to be very specific with your therapist.
A ‘Hollywood’ is absolutely everything off from the whole of the bikini line including the back (bottom) and is our most requested wax. As The Queens of Wax never fear, we do these all day long!

We would recommend Hot waxing all day long over strip waxing for more sensitive areas. As we use premium wax brand Lycon, it has a much lower melting point and so is much more comfortable on sensitive areas. The Lycon wax system also uses a pre-wax oil meaning that the wax does not even actually touch your skin – only the hair – and is so much kinder to skin.

Yes of course you can. We are all women here! All that we ask is that you arrive squeaky clean with a new tampon in. We have freshening facilities and tampons available in our bathroom too.
Please don’t! Numbing creams can interfere with the application of the wax and I’m sure it’s not good to use strong chemicals in this area.
We have a super comfy sofa in out waiting area and well hook your friend/partner up with a lovely Latte or Cappuccino served in one of our Vintage Bee China Teacups but no sorry, we do not allow anyone else into the room when you are having waxing done. It can distract your waxer and actually make a first time waxer feel more anxious.
No its fine, leave it up to us and well do everything for you. We have often found that if you try to trim before you visit more often than not it gets cut too short making our job harder.
This really is down to individual hair growth. For legs we recommend that you leave hair to grow for 3-4 weeks to ensure that both of your growth cycles (hair grows in 2 growth cycles) are through therefore ensuring a nice thorough wax. We also recommend that if it’s your first wax ever that you don’t leave it literally just before the big occasion – i.e. Just before a holiday/your wedding. We recommend that you have a couple with us before the big one to ensure that the most uncomfortable one is out of the way plus after your second wax the results will be even more thorough as the first wax may not have caught both of your two hair growth cycles. Another brilliant thing about our waxing at the Bay is that with Lycon Hot wax it removes hair up to 1mm therefore it’s great for that last minute party where you don’t want to go hairy!
It’s best not to as waxing exfoliates skin and so your skin will be too sensitive.
We cannot wax you if any of the following applies to you:

Yes but please be aware that being pregnant will make you more sensitive during your wax.
It’s important to start looking after your bikini area after your wax and at Beauty at the Bay we recommend:
